It was John Nofsinger, the former CEO of the Material Handling Industry trade association, who said to me once that he respects those who “show curiosity, enthusiasm, and a bias to act.”
It’s the last bit that stuck with me. Spend any length of time in any industry, and you get to know those who walk the walk and others who are all mouth and no action. Just think how many conversations you have at trade shows, for example, that come to nothing. Often, it’s simply down to people over-promising and under-delivering.
